Staircase to the Moon & Night Markets
The Staircase to the Moon is a natural phenomenon observed in Broome Western Australia between April and October only. It is caused by the rising of a full moon reflecting on the exposed mudflats at extremely low tide creating a beautiful optical illusion of a staircase reaching up to the moon. The Staircase Markets are held at the Town Beach Reserve on Robinson Street over the first night of the full moon Easter – October. Wander around the colourful local stalls under the stars, sample the tastes of Broome cuisine, listen to local live music and take in the spectacular Staircase to the Moon.
Staircase to the Moon
Staircase to the Moon is a natural phenomenon which occurs when a full moon rises over the exposed tidal flats of Roebuck Bay. The Staircase to the Moon happens 2 – 3 days a month between March and October. The first daysof Staircase to the Moon generally also play host to the Staircase to the Moon markets at Town Beach.

Night Markets
The Broome Markets also hold Night Markets at Town Beach Reserve each Thursday night during June to September from 4pm. Many creative stalls set up in the balmy evening for your persual, with many food stalls and crafts on offer. Additional to our regular services, an extra service departs Town Beach stop #6 at 7.25pm going back to all stops.
